About Atelier Pétale

I take great pleasure in reverse-engineering real flowers for my customers, to then recreate tiny versions of them in hot glass. I create each flower, each petal, one by one in glass and encase them in crystal clear glass to form the beads and cabochons. They always turn out to be truly intricate little glass botanical worlds, that you can peer into and look at the details for hours on end.

Botanical glassworking craftsmanship

Flowers are often attached to our dearest memories and life events: beautiful bouquets at our weddings, our children’s birth flowers, even the favorite blooms of our loved ones for whom we may want to find a beautiful gift, or that we want to remember.

Once, I was asked to create the flowers given to a woman on her first date, by a man who, over time, turned out to be her soul mate. This is a lovely thoughtful gesture a woman can gift herself, or that her partner can surprise her with.

Beautiful memories of a lifetime

One of my favorite kinds of projects is to create bridal jewellery, a little different from the traditional white, where the knotted pearls are in fact my colourful botanical beads with tiny glass versions of the bride’s bouquet flowers.

Meaningful jewellery like this is a magical token to remember your special day by and to pass on to the next generation.

Handcrafted with love in France, by Kathryn Greer

I create tiny poetic glass flowers, which are then set in elegant sterling silver, using multiple glassworking and silversmithing techniques, acquired over more than 20 years of experience.

Inspiration is a magical thing that can sprout from anywhere, at anytime. A regular source is our beautiful cottage-style garden, which I really enjoy tending to on a daily basis. I also find inspiration from other artists, including botanical photographers such as Janne L. Ford for example.

My best designs actually come from you! The specific flowers you request to be made in glass give me the occasion to develop new techniques et varieties to add to your future bouquets.
